Meet the Winners: The Young Astronauts!

We jumped on a call to surprise founders Nev Todorovic and Tyler Savory with the news.

Founded in 2008, Young Astronauts is a powerhouse creative and media agency operating between Toronto and LA. If you've consumed pop culture in the last decade, you've likely seen their work. They blend custom technology with creative direction to build fully integrated digital experiences, including:

Why The Young Astronauts Uses Venn

When you run a bi-coastal agency that relies on a massive global collective of freelance illustrators, designers, and production crew, your banking infrastructure has to keep up.

During our call, Nev and Tyler shared how traditional Canadian banking had become a massive bottleneck. They were losing hours at physical bank branches just to send wires, getting hit with $50 fees to pay a single $1,000 contractor invoice, and watching their freelancers wait days for international payments to clear. With Venn, they can send Wires for less than a quarter of the cost that land the next day.

On top of that, getting paid by US clients meant getting squeezed by their legacy bank's terrible FX conversion rates. They were paying 2-3% spreads on top of the actual rates and losing money on every transaction. With Venn, they only pay 0.25% on FX conversions, with no hidden fees or markups.

They switched to Venn so they could pay their creative network globally, on time, and without the friction. It's a perfect example of why we built this platform… to handle the financial heavy lifting so founders can get back to building.
